Received Christ: I accepted Christ when I was at Vacation Bible School as a child. I was baptized at the First Christian Church on South Calhoun Street which I attended almost every Sunday with my grandfather Fisher. I was in my middle 20's at the time.
Family: My wonderful wife Kaye, daughter Melinda and her husband Chad, our son Keith who went home to be with the Lord but will always be in my heart, and 5 beautiful grandchildren.
Started on staff: I began working as a volunteer January of 1992 and came on staff in 2001.
Pets: 3 teacup poodles: Shadow (father and his two children Jager and Lily).
Grew up in: I was born in the old Lutheran hospital and lived in Fort Wayne most of my life except when I was away at college and a year in Washington D.C.
Favorite movie: Casablanca and The Maltese Falcon
Favorite TV show: We don't hardly watch TV so I would have to say any Green Bay Packer Football game.
Favorite book: After the Bible it is hard to narrow down because I love to read a wide range of subjects. Some of my favorites are mystery books by Maj Sjowall and Per Wahloo; for style of writing nothing can beat Ernest Hemingway. I like to read sermons by DL Moody because of the stories and illustrations he uses. I also like Edgar Allen Poe's short stories and poems, books by John Steinbeck, Willa Cather and James Fenimore Cooper. I have to mention Ralph Waldo Emerson's essays and lectures (He is a relative on my Grandmother Fisher's side of the family - that is why my middle name is Emerson).
Favorite book of the Bible: John
Favorite verse: I have several! Romans 1:1, Phillipians 1:1, Titus 1:1, James 1:1, 2 Peter 1:1, Jude 1:1 ; they all remind me of what I strive to be.
What I like about my job: Watch God at work first hand.
For fun I enjoy: Hanging out with my wife, walking in the deep Northwoods, beachcombing, and getting lost in used book stores.
