More than 30 years ago our benevolence ministry was born when the church secretaries began sharing their lunches with homeless people near the church. Within a short time, people were dropping off food and clothes at the church to help meet the ever-apparent need of the homeless in downtown Fort Wayne. 25 years ago, the church hired our Benevolence Minister, Alyn Biddle, to begin to manage the flourishing ministry.

During His walk on earth, Jesus said, "Inasmuch as you have done this to one of the least of these, you have done it to Me." Our focus is on the "least of these", and thus the name "Inasmuch".

Today, Inasmuch has partnered with 26 other area churches and several local businesses in order to assist those in need. Instead of giving "handouts", we offer a "hand up", as we strive to assist those in need while building dignity and helping them to take ownership and responsibility.
